Sunday Humor

If I can remember and if I have the time I will start posting jokes on Sundays.

A elderly couple are taking a drive enjoying the nice day, however the husband gets a lead foot and soon notices flashing lights in his mirror. Looking down at the speedometer he sees that he is doing 80 M.P.H. He quickly pulls off the road. The officer walks up to the window and asks, "License and and insurance. Sir, do you know how fast you were going?" After handing his license and insurance the husband said, "Why yes I do officer I set my cruse control to 55 M.P.H." "Cruse control?" the wife stated, "this car doesn't have cruse control." The husband turned to her and gave her a stern look and turned back to the officer with a smile.
The officer then said,"I see that you are not wearing you seat belt." "I removed my belt to allow me to gain access to my wallet," the husband stated. "You never wear you seat belt," the wife stated. Again the husband head snapped to her giving her a stern look and a ssh and turned back to the officer with a smile.
The officer then asked the wife, "Miss, is your husband always like this to you?" "No officer," the wife said, "he is only like this when he has been drinking."

What I'm reading

Sorry about the looong time between post. Job's been taking all my time up but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Work's time is changing and I will have more time to blogg. Anyway here is what I'm reading at this time.
A friend of mine got me started on these books by Laurell K Hamilton. The main characters is Anita Blake a Animator, a person that can call forth zombies, who also is a vampire hunter. Her attitude is like the Marvel's "Blade" but not half vamp. The books are filled with colorful characters from vampires to wereleopards. The major plus that I find from these books is that it takes place in St. Louis, MO which I am familiar with.
With "Burnt Offerings" Anita finds herself in a war between the St. Louis Vampires and the Council of Vampires around the world and to make matters worse there is an arsonist targeting vampire owned businesses. If you like vampires, werewolves, and magic then you will kike Laurell K Hamilton's Anita Blake books.

1911 the Gun that Changed the World of Handguns

It is quite true. The 1911 that John Moses Browning created is what all all modern autos are made from. From Glocks to the Beretta 92 F, all have some part of Browning gun. This gun was made due to failure of the 38 Long Colt in the Spanish American War. Somebody had the bright idea that the more rounds you can quickly pump into a person the quicker they will die. Although the idea is true the 38 Long Colt is a poor choice due to the round is far too weak. All it did was tick off the person and who still had enough left in him to kill his attacker. It was so bad that our military when back to the 45 Colt near the end of the war. In steps John Moses Browning with his 1911 to fill in the gap where the 38 Long Colt failed. The gun was originally meant to be a calvary gun but this soon became redundant. The gun shoots a 45 cal with a Full Metal Jacket 230 grain bullet that Browning made himself. The US military welcomed this gun before WWI has stayed in our military even though the M-9 has taken over as the primary sidearm. Can you say history repeating its self with the M-9? It is with this gun's primary round is where I get some of my names. If you wish to learn more check out some of my posts. Oh and yes that 1911-A1 is mine.
